Booking terms

A plain summary of the agreement you sign when you book. The signed agreement and its schedule are what count; this page is here so you know what to expect before you enquire.

Confirming your booking

Your booking is confirmed when we have your signed agreement and the deposit. Until then, the date is not held for you.

Fees and payment

  • The fee covers the performers, their travel and their public liability insurance, unless the schedule says otherwise.
  • A deposit is payable when you sign.
  • The balance is due six weeks before the event. If you book within six weeks of the event, the full fee is payable on booking.

Cancelling or moving the date

  • You can cancel by telling us in writing. The deposit is not refundable.
  • Business and organisation bookings: if you cancel within six weeks of the event, the full fee is payable, because the performers will have turned down other work for your date.
  • Private bookings: if you cancel between six weeks and 15 days before the event, the charge is 50% of the fee; within 14 days, it is the full fee. Both include the deposit, less any costs we save.
  • You can move the booking once, to a date within 12 months, subject to the performers being available. Your deposit moves with it. A move requested within six weeks of the event counts as a cancellation.

Our performers

We choose and brief the performers. If a named performer cannot attend because of illness or an emergency, we provide a replacement of equivalent experience and tell you as soon as we can. If we cannot provide the entertainment at all, we refund everything you have paid us.

We supply the performers ourselves: you book with us, and we engage and pay each performer, who works for us on a self-employed basis. Before a performer is booked for your event we check their identity and experience, and we tell you who they are.

Children and vulnerable adults

Our performers work mainly at adult events and do not hold DBS checks. If children or vulnerable adults will be at your event, tell us when you book. A parent, carer or other responsible adult from your party stays with them whenever performers are present.

On the night

  • You give performers access to the venue at the agreed times and a safe place to work, and tell us in advance about anything that affects the performance.
  • If you would like performers to stay longer, we agree it there and then where they are available, at the hourly rate in the schedule.
  • Guests are welcome to take photographs and short videos for personal use. Commercial filming needs our written agreement.
  • We may take a few photographs of the performance to show our work. Tell us if you or your guests would prefer not to appear. We never use photographs in which a child can be identified without a parent’s consent.

Liability and the law

Our total liability is limited to the total fee, except for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited. Neither of us is responsible for events beyond reasonable control, such as severe weather or venue closure; in that case we offer a new date or refund what you have paid, less costs we cannot recover (private clients can choose a full refund instead). The agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are booking privately

The 14-day cancellation right for contracts made at a distance does not apply, because this is a leisure service for a specific date. Your other statutory rights are not affected.
