Awards evenings
Awards evening entertainment that keeps the room with you
Awards nights have long stretches when guests are waiting: the drinks reception, the gaps between courses, the time before the ceremony starts. Close-up magic fills them without competing with the host or the winners.
01 The running order
Where magic fits in the evening
- Arrival and drinks. Magicians mingle as guests arrive and look for their names on the table plan.
- Between courses. Table to table, finishing before the ceremony begins.
- During the ceremony. Performers stop. The stage belongs to the host and the winners.
- After the awards. An optional set as guests move to the bar or the dance floor.

02 Planning notes
Four things that make it work
- Agree a hard stop with your producer, so every performer is off the floor before the first award.
- Put the tables that matter most early in the performers’ route between courses.
- For more than 300 guests at dinner, plan a team: one magician cannot reach every table between two courses.
- Tell us about sponsors or guests of honour, and we will make sure they are looked after.
03 Questions
Questions organisers ask
Will the magicians perform during the awards?
No. Performers stop before the ceremony begins and stay off the floor until it ends, so all attention is on the stage.
Can a magician present an award?
We prefer to keep performers off the stage, so the evening belongs to your host and your winners. If you have a particular idea, talk to us about it.
How many magicians for an awards dinner?
Use one per 100 guests at dinner as a starting point, so every table is visited between courses. Our coverage calculator on the team bookings page works it out for you.
