Team bookings
Several magicians, one plan for the whole room
When guest numbers pass 150, one magician cannot reach everyone. We put together a team of professional close-up magicians, give each one a part of the room, and coordinate them so every guest sees the magic.
01 Coverage
Work out your team
Enter your guest numbers, the kind of event and how many rooms you are using. You will get a starting point and the reasoning behind it.
A starting point for your event
2 magicians
- One magician for about every 150 guests at a drinks reception.
We confirm the number once we know your timings and layout.
02 Formats by room type
How the team works in different rooms
Ballrooms and halls
One large room
Each magician takes a zone, usually a third or a quarter of the floor. Zones follow natural landmarks such as the bar, pillars and the stage, so performers never cross paths.
Suites and floors
Several connected spaces
One magician for each space, with the most experienced performer in the busiest. As guests move between spaces, the team moves with them.
Drinks into dinner
Reception, then dinner
The whole team works the reception, then splits the tables between them so every table is visited between courses.
03 On the night
How coordination works on the night
- A lead magician for every team of two or more, who is your single point of contact on the night.
- A briefing before doors open covering the running order, each performer’s zone, guests to look after and anything to avoid.
- Agreed cues with your event manager for speeches, dinner service and changes to timings.
- Arrival in good time, before your guests, reporting to your contact on site.
- A shared picture of the room, so no group is visited twice while another waits.

04 Example plans
Three example team plans
Example
Awards dinner for 400
Four magicians. At the reception each takes a quarter of the room. At dinner each covers a block of tables between the starter and the main, finishing before the first award. The lead magician agrees timings with the awards producer.
Example
Conference reception for 250
Two magicians. One starts at registration as delegates arrive; both move into the main reception when the bar opens, working either side of the room.
Example
Christmas party for 600 on two floors
Four magicians, two on each floor, swapping floors halfway through so guests meet two different performers during the evening.
These examples show how a plan is put together. They are not records of past events.
05 Questions
Questions organisers ask
Will the magicians all perform the same tricks?
No. Each performer has their own material, so guests who meet two of them get two different experiences. We choose a team whose styles suit your audience and each other.
Who do we speak to on the night?
Your event manager has one contact: the lead magician. Before the event, you deal with one person at the agency.
Can we add a magician later?
Usually, as long as a suitable performer is free. Tell us as soon as your guest numbers change and we will update the plan and the quote.
How long do the magicians perform for?
It depends on your running order. Most teams cover the parts of the event when guests are mixing, such as the reception and the gaps between courses, and we suggest timings when we send the plan.
